Graduates and first-time job hunters may want to get ahead of sluggish wage growth.

The U.S. jobs market is sunnier, but wage growth is persistently lackluster.

Some entry-level jobs pay more than three times the median wage, according to an analysis of more than 19,000 salary records between March 2016 and October 2017 by career and salary company Comparably. The company identified data scientist as the top technology job for first-timers, with the average salary at $110,850 per year, followed by product manager at $105,000 per year. (Among technology jobs, these were closely followed by developer ($96,000 per year) — who use code to research, design, program and test computer software — and mobile developer ($98,000 per year).
