Convenco is the holding company of the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).
Convenco received on Friday afternoon the City of Cape Town’s investigative report into the allegations of irregularities relating to the tender.
In March 2012 three architects were awarded the contract for a multimillion rand expansion project of the CTICC on Cape Town's Foreshore.
The Public Protector ordered the City of Cape Town to appoint a task team to investigate the awarding of the tender after some unsuccessful bidders complained.
They claimed the firms that won the tender had an unfair advantage.
The CTICC expansion plans have since been put on hold because of the investigation into the procurement process.
Irregular
The report did, however, find that the awarding of the architectural tender was irregular in terms of the applicable supply chain management policies and regulations.
The report recommends that the Convenco board brings disciplinary action against three staff members of the CTICC for supply chain irregularities.
The report further recommends that the Convenco board consider taking steps to cancel the architectural contract.
Because the report only makes recommendations, the matter is now in the hands of the Convenco board for consideration and action.
"Convenco welcomes the report, which confirms no finding of fraud or corruption," said Convenco in a statement.
"The board of Convenco takes findings of irregular procedures seriously and has established a process to evaluate the findings and consider the recommendations."
At this stage, Convenco cannot say whether it agrees or disagrees with the findings and recommendations made in the report.
An official statement will be released once the Convenco board has had an opportunity to complete the agreed internal process.
The daily operations of the CTICC will remain unaffected during this process.
